Swimming Ducks Porcelain Limoges Box

Ducks glide across the water on this porcelain box, a calm pond-side moment caught in miniature. Hand-painted in Limoges, France, it is a Limoges box that brings the quiet of an early morning lake indoors.

Ripples at Dawn

Anyone who has watched ducks paddle across a still pond knows how peaceful the sight can be. This box holds onto that feeling, with the birds moving together across the water as if following a familiar route home.

Who Will Want It

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits duck, waterfowl and wild bird groupings
• Pairs with heron, swan and lake house pieces

For the Lake and Marsh Crowd

Birdwatchers, duck hunters, kayakers and lake house owners will all find something familiar here. It makes a thoughtful present for a cabin housewarming, a retirement to the water, or a birthday for someone who rises early to see the birds.

Lodge and Cabin Style

Set it on a cabin mantel with a decoy or two, on a den bookshelf beside field guides, or in a curio cabinet with other birds. Its quiet subject also suits a reading nook or a sunporch overlooking the water.
