French Antique End Table Porcelain Limoges Box Figurine

Modeled after a French antique end table, this piece would look just as right in a foyer as beside a bed as a nightstand. It is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box from Limoges, France, a small tribute to classic French furniture.

By the Front Door

A good foyer table is the first thing guests see, holding keys, mail and fresh flowers. A good nightstand is the last thing you see before turning out the light. This miniature recalls both, with the graceful proportions French cabinetmakers were known for.

Building a Miniature Bedroom

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• A versatile piece for a miniature furniture or French antiques collection
• Pairs with sofas, armoires, beds and clocks in porcelain

Moving Day and Beyond

This makes a clever housewarming present, a thank you for an interior decorator, or a birthday surprise for someone who loves browsing antique shops. Place it in a real foyer on top of the full sized table it imitates, or on a bedroom shelf beside a porcelain bed.

Limoges has been producing porcelain since the late 1700s, when kaolin, the fine white clay that makes true porcelain possible, was found near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768. Furniture subjects like this table showcase how much detail the material can hold.
