Frog Resting on a Lily Pad Limoges Box

A frog lounges on a lily pad, perfectly at ease at the edge of a quiet pond. This is a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it brings the calm of a summer garden pool indoors.

King of the Pond

Frogs have long stood for luck and transformation in folk tales, and the lily pad is their natural throne. The pairing here is as classic as it gets, a scene that could have come straight from a Monet water garden at Giverny.

Leaping Into the Collection

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a frog, pond or garden grouping
• Pairs with dragonfly, turtle and water lily pieces

Ponds and Porches

Set it on a sunroom windowsill, a bathroom shelf near the tub or a garden room table where plants are close by. It is a fun birthday present for someone who collects frogs, a housewarming nod for a home with a backyard pond, or a thank-you for a gardener who keeps koi. Frog collectors often find room for more than one, and this lily pad pose is a good anchor for a pond themed shelf.
