Green Pencil Hand-Painted Limoges Box

A bright green pencil, ready for the next page of notes or the next sketch, is reimagined here as a porcelain box. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it makes a clever companion for anyone whose work begins with a sharpened point.

Sharpened and Ready

The humble pencil has written everything from grocery lists to great novels, and architects, artists and accountants still keep one close at hand. Painting it in green gives the piece a fresh, springlike feel. The color is applied by hand in Limoges, so each pencil carries slight differences in tone.

Desk Drawer Companions

Thank You, Teacher

This is a smart thank you for a teacher at the end of the year, a writer finishing a manuscript, or an architect opening a new office. It suits a graduation, a first day on the job or a retirement after a long career in the classroom. On a writing desk beside a cup of pens, it quietly honors the work done there each day.
