Ghost with Pumpkins Halloween Limoges Box

A friendly ghost floats beside a cluster of jack-o'-lanterns on this Halloween porcelain box, more sweet than scary. The scene was painted by hand in Limoges, France, as a seasonal Limoges box.

Boo and the Pumpkin Patch

Ghosts and carved pumpkins are the two most beloved symbols of Halloween, and putting them together makes a complete October story in one piece. The jack-o'-lanterns give the scene warmth, while the ghost adds a little mischief. Each box is painted by hand, so faces and colors vary slightly.

Haunting the Mantel

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Joins witch, black cat and bat pieces in a Halloween grouping
• Rotates in each fall with harvest pieces

Treats for the Season

This makes a fun present for a friend born in October, a neighbor who goes all out with porch decorations, or a teacher who loves the holiday. It is also a nice hostess thank-you at a Halloween party, or a first piece for someone starting a seasonal collection.

Set it among candles and gourds on a mantel, on a hall table by the candy bowl, or on a kitchen windowsill. When November comes, it packs away easily with the rest of the autumn decor, ready to come back out when the leaves turn again next year.
