Hot Air Balloon Porcelain Limoges Box
A hot air balloon drifts skyward on this porcelain box, as if bound for a slow flight over fields and rooftops. Made in Limoges, France, the balloon was shaped and painted by hand as a Limoges box with a sense of adventure.
Up, Up and Away
Hot air balloons have captured imaginations since the Montgolfier brothers first sent one aloft over France in the 1780s. The sight of a balloon floating at sunrise still makes people stop and look up. This piece captures that feeling of lightness and wonder.

Celebrations Worth Rising For
It makes a memorable present for a retirement and the travels that follow, a graduation as someone heads off on a new adventure, or a couple who took a balloon ride on their honeymoon. Set it on a bookshelf next to travel journals, on an office desk, or on a windowsill where the morning light comes in.
Wherever it lands, it brings a reminder that the best views are often found a little higher up.
