Rochard Western Wall of Jerusalem Limoges Box with Torah
The ancient stones of Jerusalem's Western Wall, often called the Wailing Wall, rise in this hand-painted porcelain Limoges box. Rochard made it in Limoges, France, and included a small Torah that lifts away.
Stones of the Old City
The Western Wall is the last standing part of the retaining wall around the Second Temple, and for centuries it has been the holiest place of prayer in Judaism. Visitors tuck written prayers between its stones, and the plaza before it fills for festivals and bar and bat mitzvahs. Pairing the wall with a Torah honors both the place and the teaching.
