Large Porcelain Avocado Limoges Box, Ladybug Inside

Open this large porcelain avocado and a little ladybug is waiting inside, a sweet surprise tucked away from view. The avocado is a Limoges box made and decorated in Limoges, France, with every detail painted by hand.

A Surprise in the Center

Avocados have become a symbol of fresh, healthy cooking, and turning one into fine porcelain gives a modern favorite a classic French treatment. The ladybug inside adds a touch of good luck and a bit of garden charm.

Guacamole Night Guests

This piece suits a cook who puts avocado on everything, a California transplant, a nutritionist, or a friend who hosts the best taco night in town. It also makes a cheerful housewarming present for a first kitchen. Keep it on a kitchen windowsill, an open shelf with green pottery, or a counter beside the fruit bowl, where guests can lift the lid and find the ladybug. The large size gives it presence among other fruits and vegetables.
