Rochard Basketball Porcelain Limoges Box

A basketball in porcelain, ready to swish through the net, makes a fun salute to the game. This sports piece is a Rochard Limoges box, painted by hand in Limoges, France.

Nothing but Net

The round ball forms the whole box, so it reads instantly from across a room. Its colors and seams are painted by hand, giving it the look of a well-loved ball from the driveway hoop or the high school gym.

Courtside Seats at Home

Set it on a desk, a trophy shelf or a den bookcase next to team photos. It is a smart present for a coach at the end of the season, a senior night player, a referee who has called a thousand games, or a fan heading into March Madness.

The Starting Five

• A Rochard sports design, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• A solid pick for basketball or sports memorabilia collections
• Pairs with baseball, football, golf and tennis boxes

Many Limoges boxes are painted by hand after the white porcelain is fired, and metal mounts are often fitted by hand as well. That is why even a simple shape like a ball takes many steps before it reaches the shelf.
