Mini Pig on a Green Base Limoges Box by Rochard

A mini pig stands on a small green base in this sweet farmyard porcelain box. Rochard modeled the little pig and painted it by hand in Limoges, France.

This Little Piggy

Pigs have long stood for good luck and prosperity in many cultures, and a small one on a patch of green feels like a happy morning on the farm. Rochard keeps the design simple and charming. Every pig is brushed by hand, so each one shows small differences in shading and expression.

Down on the Farm

Set it on a farmhouse kitchen windowsill, a hutch shelf, or a curio cabinet among other barnyard animals. It makes a cheerful present for a pig collector, a 4-H volunteer, a farmer at the county fair, or a friend who keeps a pet pig at home. It also suits a New Year's celebration, since pigs are a traditional symbol of a lucky year ahead.
