Mini Rhinoceros Porcelain Limoges Box

A small rhinoceros, solid and sturdy, is the subject of this porcelain piece. The Limoges box was hand-painted in Limoges, France, giving one of Africa's great animals a place on the shelf.

Horn of Plenty

Rhinos are one of the Big Five of the African safari, admired for their strength and their prehistoric look. They are also among the most endangered large animals, which gives a rhino piece extra meaning for anyone who supports wildlife protection. The box is painted by hand, so its shading differs slightly from one to the next.

Strength in Small Porcelain

Limoges boxes like this one start as hard-paste porcelain fired at very high heat, which suits a subject known for toughness. Give it to a safari traveler, a zoo keeper, a conservation donor, or a colleague who never backs down from a challenge. It fits a home office, a den bookshelf or a curio cabinet of wild animals.
