Rochard Happy Birthday Balloon Oblong Limoges Box

A floating balloon and a Happy Birthday greeting make this long, oblong box a party that never has to end. Rochard paints it by hand on porcelain in Limoges, France, as a cheerful Limoges box for any birthday on the calendar.

Many Happy Returns

Birthday cards get read once and tucked away; a porcelain greeting stays out on the dresser. The oblong form gives the message room to stretch, and the balloon adds the same lift you feel when the candles are lit. Because it says nothing about age, it works for a sixteenth just as well as a ninetieth.

Party Favors, Porcelain Style

• A Rochard design from Limoges, France
• Fits a birthday, celebration or party-themed collection
• Pairs with cake, champagne and gift package boxes

Balloons That Never Pop

Set it at the place of honor on the birthday table, then let it move to a nightstand, office desk or kitchen windowsill once the party is over. It is a thoughtful choice for milestone years, for a coworker's office celebration, or for a friend who lives far away and missed the party. Some families pass the same box from birthday to birthday as a running tradition.

Porcelain has been made in Limoges since kaolin, a fine white clay, was found near Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche in 1768, and celebrations like this one have been a favorite subject ever since.
