Mother Penguin and Chick Limoges Box by Rochard

A mother penguin keeps her chick close by in this tender scene from the frozen south. Rochard modeled the pair as a porcelain Limoges box and painted them by hand in Limoges, France.

Waddling Together

Penguin parents are famous for their devotion, taking turns to keep their young warm through the coldest months. This piece captures that closeness in a small sculpture. Both birds are painted by hand, so no two pairs come out identical.

An Antarctic Family Portrait

• A Rochard wildlife design from Limoges, France
• Suits a penguin, seabird or polar animal grouping
• Pairs well with polar bear, seal and snowy owl pieces

For New Arrivals and Old Friends

This parent and baby theme makes it a natural pick for a baby shower, a first Mother's Day, or a grandmother welcoming a new grandchild. Place it on a dresser or a glass cabinet with other wildlife figures. Winter displays suit it too, especially next to snowmen and frosted evergreens, and anyone who has watched penguins at an aquarium will recognize the way the chick stays close to its mother.
