Rochard 39 Again Birthday Cake Limoges Box in Pink

A pink birthday cake with a single candle cheerfully announces 39 Again, the birthday that some people celebrate year after year. This witty piece is a Rochard Limoges box, porcelain made and hand-painted in Limoges, France.

Forever Thirty-Nine

The joke goes back to comedian Jack Benny, who famously insisted he was 39 for decades. Ever since, 39 Again has been the gracious way to sidestep a bigger number with a wink and a smile.

The Birthday Nobody Counts

This little cake is a hit at a fortieth, fiftieth or sixtieth birthday party, or any year when the guest of honor would rather not say the real number. Present it to a sister, a best friend, a mother or a coworker with a good sense of humor.

Afterward it sits happily on a dresser, a desk or a kitchen shelf, ready to bring out a laugh every time someone asks the age question. Add one each year for a running joke that never gets old.
