Mother Polar Bear and Cub Porcelain Limoges Box

$279.00 $0.00

A mother polar bear stands close to her small cub on a snowy white base, the two of them sharing a quiet moment on the ice. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box was painted in Limoges, France, with gentle shading in the fur so the all white subject never looks flat.

Mother of the Arctic

Polar bear mothers are famously protective, and this piece captures that bond simply and tenderly. The cub tucks in at her side, and the light shading in their coats suggests cold sunlight on the snow.

Into the Far North

  • Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
  • Belongs with bear, arctic and wildlife figures
  • Pairs with penguin, seal and winter animal pieces

A Mother's Day in Porcelain

It makes a tender present for a new mother, a grandmother, or anyone celebrating Mother's Day. Wildlife fans who have traveled north to see the bears will appreciate it as a memento. Display it in a winter grouping during the cold months, or keep it year round on a shelf with other animal families.

Few pieces show a parent and young together quite so simply.
