Oil Field Pump Jack Rochard Limoges Box
An oil field pump jack nods steadily up and down, the familiar workhorse of the oil patch, here turned into porcelain. This industry piece is a Rochard Limoges box, hand-painted in Limoges, France.
Nodding Donkeys of the Plains
Pump jacks, nicknamed nodding donkeys or grasshoppers, dot the landscape from West Texas to Oklahoma and beyond. Their slow, rhythmic motion is a symbol of the energy industry and of the hard working families who built it.
From the Oil Patch to the Office
- A Rochard professions design from Limoges, France
- Joins other career and industry boxes
- Fits an oil and gas, energy or Texas collection
Striking It Rich
Give it to a petroleum engineer, a landman, a driller, a geologist or an executive marking a career milestone. It also makes a fitting retirement present after decades in the field, or a congratulations for a well that came in.
It sits proudly on an office desk, a conference room credenza or a den bookshelf beside company memorabilia. Few people expect to see oil field equipment in fine French porcelain, which makes it a memorable conversation piece.
