Tall Purple Scalloped Limoges Box with Yellow Flowers

Scalloped edges and a rich purple ground give this tall box a graceful, ruffled outline, while yellow flowers add a burst of sunshine. It was painted by hand in Limoges, France, and the contrast of purple and yellow makes it impossible to overlook.

Purple Meets Gold

Purple and yellow sit opposite each other on the color wheel, which is why the pairing feels so lively. Think of crocuses pushing through late snow or pansies in a window box, and you have the spirit of this piece.

Scallops and Sunshine

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Fits a floral, spring or purple collection
• Pairs with pansy, iris and other scalloped boxes

A Burst of Crocus Color

Give it a spot on a sunny windowsill, a vanity or a desk that needs a lift. It makes a cheerful present for a spring birthday, an Easter visit, a graduate whose school colors are purple and gold, or a friend who simply loves bold color.

Shaped by Hand, Fired Hot

Hard-paste porcelain from Limoges is fired at very high temperatures, which allows fine shapes like these scalloped edges to hold crisp and true.
