Potted Purple Flowers Limoges Box

Purple blooms rise from a little flowerpot on this porcelain box, a houseplant that will never wilt. The petals and the pot are hand-painted in Limoges, France, and the planter itself opens as the box.

A Pot Full of Purple

Purple flowers bring a rich, calm color to any room, and here they cluster together above the rim of the pot. The painter builds the petals by hand, so each box has its own arrangement of shades and highlights.

Windowsill Garden

This piece is a favorite with gardeners who want a bit of color indoors all year. It sits nicely with watering can, wheelbarrow, birdhouse and other flowerpot boxes, and it adds a splash of purple to a shelf of floral pieces.

Never Needs Watering

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Brightens a kitchen windowsill, a sunroom shelf or a bedside table
• A cheerful present for a garden club friend, a nurse or a new neighbor

It makes a lovely Mother's Day surprise or a get-well wish that lasts longer than a bouquet. Anyone who loves lilac, lavender or violets will find something to like in it, and anyone who struggles to keep real plants alive will appreciate one that asks nothing of them.
