Gingerbread Man in Santa Hat Rochard Limoges Box

A gingerbread man wears a raised 3D Santa hat, and a peppermint candy lifts away from his side. Rochard made this holiday cookie as a hand-painted porcelain Limoges box in Limoges, France.

Fresh From the Cookie Sheet

Gingerbread men are the first cookies many families bake each December, and this one is clearly ready for the party. The hat stands up off the surface, so it catches the light and gives the piece real depth. The peppermint adds a second little treat, and the painters add the icing details by hand.

Sugar and Spice Shelf

• A Rochard piece, hand-painted in Limoges, France
• Sits beside gingerbread house, candy cane and cookie jar subjects
• Suits a Christmas baking or holiday sweets collection

Cookie Exchange Season

This makes a fun thank-you for the host of a cookie swap, a baker who sends tins to the whole street, or a teacher at the last day before winter break. Put it on a kitchen windowsill, a holiday buffet or a tree skirt shelf beside the cookie plate left for Santa. It also suits a December birthday or a family that decorates gingerbread together every year.
