Rochard Santa Claus with a Bell Limoges Box
Santa Claus holds up a bell in this cheerful little figure box, as if calling everyone in for Christmas morning. Rochard shaped him in porcelain and painted him by hand in Limoges, France.
Ring In the Holidays
Bells have rung through Christmas songs and church towers for centuries, and Rochard put one right in Santa's hand. Santa and his bell are each brushed by hand, so every Santa has his own small personality once the paint has been fired.

Fired and Painted by Hand
Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat, which gives it a bright white body for the painters to work on. Set this Santa on a side table, in the curio cabinet or on a windowsill where the winter light can reach him. He makes a lovely present for a church choir member, a bell ringer who volunteers each December, or the friend who already has a row of Santas and always has room for one more.
