Rochard Skiing Limoges Box with Skis

A pair of skis gives this Rochard box its whole personality, the kind of piece that belongs to someone who checks the snow report before the weather report. This ski-themed piece was shaped and hand-painted in Limoges, France.

First Chair, Fresh Powder

Skiing has its rituals: boots clicking into bindings, the cold on your face at the top of the lift, the long glide down a groomed run. This box gathers that feeling into something small enough to sit on a nightstand. Rochard paints its sports subjects with an eye for the gear people actually recognize, and the skis here are the star.

The Lodge Shelf

• A Rochard winter sports design from Limoges, France
• Partners well with snowboard, skate and snowman pieces
• Brings a chalet feel to a den bookcase or mantel

After the Last Run

It suits a ski instructor, a ski patrol veteran, or the friend who plans a trip to Vail, Aspen or the Alps every season. Give it for a birthday in January, as a souvenir of a family ski week, or to celebrate someone's first black diamond. Set it near the fireplace where the wet mittens usually dry, and it will remind them of the mountain all summer long.
