Rochard Christmas Heart Limoges Box with Little Girl
A heart shaped box holds a little girl and the hush of Christmas morning, softer in mood than the usual Santa scenes. It comes from Rochard's Studio Collection and is hand-painted porcelain, made in Limoges, France.
A Heart Full of December
The heart shape gives the holiday a tender note. Instead of reindeer and sleigh bells, the piece centers on a young girl's sense of wonder at the season, the moment before the wrapping paper flies. It is painted by hand, so the colors carry the small variations that come from a brush rather than a machine.
Little Girl, Big Wonder
It speaks to a mother or grandmother who remembers a daughter's first Christmas, or to a woman who still feels like that little girl when the tree goes up. Many families bring it out with the ornaments each year and give it the same spot on the mantel every time.
