Sun on Orange Round Porcelain Limoges Box

A painted sun shines across a round orange porcelain box, warm and golden like the first light of a summer day. Its painting was done by hand in Limoges, France.

Here Comes the Sun

The sun has been a symbol of warmth, energy and life in art for thousands of years, from Provencal pottery to Louis XIV, the Sun King. This round box carries that bright spirit, and since it is painted by hand, the sun and colors vary slightly from piece to piece.

Provence in a Palm

Orange and gold are the colors of the south of France, where sunflowers, lavender and painted pottery fill the markets. This box suits a Provencal kitchen, a sunny breakfast nook or a room decorated in warm Mediterranean tones.
