Table Lamp Shape with Sailboats and Lighthouse Limoges Box

Shaped like a small table lamp, this porcelain box carries a seaside scene of sailboats and a lighthouse. It is a hand-painted Limoges box from Limoges, France, and a purely decorative one, since it does not light up.

A Beacon That Never Needs a Bulb

Lighthouses and sailboats are two of the most familiar symbols of the coast, standing for safe harbor and the open water. Combining them on a lamp shape gives this piece a cozy, cottage by the sea feel. The scene is painted by hand, so the details differ slightly from box to box.

Harbor Light Gifts

Give it to a lighthouse collector, a sailor, a coastal homeowner, or a friend who spends summers on Cape Cod or the Maine shore. It also makes a cheerful housewarming present for a new beach cottage. Set it on a nightstand, an end table or a bookshelf, where it looks like a tiny lamp from a seaside guest room.
