Rochard Oval Thank You Limoges Box

An oval lid carries two simple words, Thank You, and that is all this Rochard box needs to say. Hand-painted in Limoges, France, it turns a moment of gratitude into something that stays on a desk for years.

Gratitude in an Oval

The oval is one of the oldest Limoges box forms, a shape that goes back to the boxes carried by French ladies and gentlemen in the 1700s. Small porcelain boxes became fashionable then for holding snuff, pills and beauty patches. Rochard updates the form with a message anyone can use.

When a Note Is Not Enough

People Worth Thanking

Think of the nurse who stayed late, the teacher who saw something in a student, the neighbor who watched the dog all summer, or the hostess who threw the perfect party. A mentor at retirement or a colleague who covered a hard week also come to mind. Tuck it beside a handwritten card, and the words will outlast the paper they were written on.
