Triple Hinged Blue Motel with Garage Limoges Box

A blue roadside motel with its own garage brings back the age of the great American road trip in this triple hinged porcelain Limoges box. It is an Artoria design, painted by hand in Limoges, France.

Vacancy on Route 66

From the 1950s on, roadside motels welcomed families driving across the country, each with its neon sign and a spot for the car. The blue motel and its garage are painted by hand here, so the shades and small details vary from box to box.

An Artoria Piece

Artoria is known for detailed architectural Limoges boxes, and this triple hinged motel shows that skill. It is a satisfying piece for anyone who appreciates more complex porcelain construction.
