Watering Can with Ducks Porcelain Limoges Box

Ducks decorate this little porcelain watering can, as if they just waddled out of the garden pond to inspect the flower beds. It is a hand-painted Limoges box, made in Limoges, France, with a cheerful farmyard spirit.

Puddle Ducks and Petunias

Watering cans are among the most loved garden subjects in Limoges boxes, and adding ducks gives this one a playful, springtime character. The birds and the can are painted by hand, so the brushwork carries small differences from one finished box to the next.

A Sprinkle of Spring

This is a natural choice for Easter morning, a spring birthday, or a friend who spends April on her knees in the vegetable patch. Gardeners tend to keep it near the back door or on the kitchen sill, where it can watch over the seedlings waiting to go in the ground. It also suits a farmhouse kitchen with gingham curtains and a basket of fresh eggs on the counter.
