Rochard White Lighthouse Porcelain Limoges Box

A white lighthouse stands guard over the coast on this Rochard piece, a beacon for anyone who loves the sea. It is a Rochard Limoges box whose porcelain tower was given its color by hand in Limoges, France.

Beacon on the Bluff

Lighthouses have guided sailors home for centuries, and today they draw visitors from Maine to the Carolinas to the Pacific coast. The white tower is a timeless coastal image, simple and steadfast. Rochard paints each one by hand, so slight differences in shading make every lighthouse its own.

Souvenirs of the Shore

This makes a lovely keepsake from a seaside vacation, a housewarming present for a new beach house, or a thank you for a sailor, a coast guard veteran or a harbor master. Lighthouse collectors often build sets by region, and a white tower fits nearly any group. Set it on a windowsill facing the water, on a mantel with driftwood and shells, or in a curio cabinet beside other coastal pieces. It brings the calm of the shore to any room, even far inland.
