White Sea Lion Porcelain Limoges Box

A white sea lion, sleek and simple, is the subject of this porcelain box. Painted by hand in Limoges, France, this Limoges box keeps its palette clean so the shape of the animal speaks for itself.

Sunning on the Rocks

Sea lions are the clowns of the coastline, barking from harbor docks and rocky points from California to the Galapagos. A white sea lion has a softer, almost wintry feel, which lets this piece move easily between ocean themes and polar or snowy displays. Because the finish is applied by hand, each box varies a little in tone.

Gifts From the Waterfront

Give it to an aquarium volunteer, a marine biology student, or a traveler back from a trip to Monterey or the docks of San Francisco. It also works as a winter season accent alongside snowy pieces. On a bathroom shelf, a beach house windowsill or a curio cabinet, the white finish looks fresh and bright.
