Rochard Lady Skier Mountain Limoges Box

A woman skier carves her way down a mountain slope on this Rochard box, all speed, snow and confidence. The design is hand-painted on porcelain in Limoges, France.

Queen of the Black Diamond

There is something special about a skier who owns the mountain, and Rochard gave this one the poise of someone who has skied since she could walk. The mountain behind her sets the scene, and the whole piece is painted by hand, from the slope to the skier.

Cold Hands, Warm Lodge

She feels at home on a chalet mantel, a cabin bookshelf or a desk where someone counts down to ski season. Pair her with a set of skis, a snowman or a hot cocoa piece for a full winter display.

Kilns in the Valley

Limoges porcelain is hard-paste porcelain, fired at very high heat, then painted by hand once the white body comes out of the kiln.
