Rochard Yellow Birdhouse Porcelain Limoges Box

A sunny yellow birdhouse, the kind that waits on a fence post for the first wrens of spring, brightens this Rochard piece. It is a Rochard Limoges box, porcelain with its yellow paint applied by hand in Limoges, France.

Vacancy for Songbirds

Hanging a birdhouse is one of the simple joys of a garden, and watching a family of birds move in is even better. The cheerful yellow here gives that scene a burst of springtime color. Rochard paints each piece by hand, so the shade and details vary a little from one birdhouse to another.

For the Bird Watcher

This makes a lovely present for a bird watcher with binoculars always by the window, a gardener who keeps the feeders full, or a friend who just bought a house with a big yard. It also suits a spring birthday or a Mother's Day surprise. Set it on a sunroom shelf, a kitchen windowsill facing the feeder, or a potting bench. The yellow pops against green plants and white trim, making it an easy accent for a garden themed room.
