Yellow Couch Limoges Box, Retired Porcelain Sofa
A bright yellow couch, fit for a doll's parlor, makes a cheerful porcelain box that stands out in any grouping. It is a hand-painted Limoges box made in Limoges, France, and it is a retired design.
A Seat in the Sunny Parlor
Furniture shapes have long been a favorite among Limoges box makers, and a sofa is one of the most inviting of them. The sunny yellow color keeps this one lively, so it reads as a happy little room accent rather than a formal antique.
Furnishing a Porcelain Room
- A retired design, no longer in regular production
- Fits a furniture, home or miniature room collection
- Pairs with armchair, piano, grandfather clock and fireplace boxes
Where the Couch Belongs
Arrange it on a bookshelf with other furniture pieces to build a tiny living room, or let it stand alone on a desk as a splash of yellow. It is a playful present for someone who just bought their first sofa, an interior designer, or a friend whose favorite color is yellow. Because it is retired, it can be the missing piece that completes a furniture collection someone has been building for years.
Yellow is not a common color in porcelain furniture, which helps this couch catch the eye across a room.
